A scenario starts from a named plan version. From there, a leader can add roles, remove spend, move teams, change allocations, or shift start dates. The approved base plan stays untouched while the alternative develops.

Because the scenario retains its ancestry, Arrange can calculate the actual difference rather than comparing two flattened spreadsheets. A role-level change and a reporting-line move remain distinct changes with distinct consequences.

A lower-cost scenario can still create a management bottleneck. A faster hiring scenario can fit annual run rate but exceed the current-year envelope. A reorganization can be cost neutral and still create double allocation or an orphaned dotted line.

Turn the preferred scenario into a reviewable request

Choosing a scenario is a decision, not a copy-and-paste operation. A funding request pins the scenario and target versions so the reviewed proposal cannot change underneath the decision. Arrange drafts a memo from the computed difference and runs checks on the state that would result after approval.

Comments attach to the specific role or team they question. Conditions remain part of the request. If the scenario changes after feedback, it is resubmitted as a new version rather than silently replacing what a reviewer saw.

Resolve conflicts in business terms

Two leaders can change different parts of a plan without creating a manual reconciliation project. When changes overlap, Arrange identifies typed conflicts: the same field changed twice, a role moved to two different teams, or one scenario deleted a subtree another scenario edited.

Resolution is expressed in the values the business understands. Choose the level, placement, allocation, or delete outcome and inspect its cost consequence. The underlying version control stays out of the vocabulary.

Keep the alternatives after the decision

A rejected or deferred scenario still contains useful reasoning. Arrange keeps it with its assumptions and differences intact. The approved scenario combines into the base plan, while the alternatives remain available for the next planning cycle.

This creates a durable trail from current plan back to the decisions that shaped it. Teams can inspect what they considered, what they selected, and what conditions were attached without reconstructing the meeting.
